"Theresa is just the type of coach I need, and enjoy having on my side. She pushes me harder than I believe I can go, because she sees the potential I sometimes fail to see. She cares about her clients and wants to see them achieve all their goals, and that is what anyone trying to push themselves to the next level needs."

My weight loss journey
By Marlena Lewis-Hamilton
All my life, I had been a very thin person. I could eat whatever I wanted and never saw that it add any significant weight to me. After the loss of my job in 2012, I found comfort in eating. By early 2013, I weighed 186 pounds. With my short stature this put an enormous amount of stress on my body. I had very little energy, or motivation to do anything. I saw infomercials late at night about Beachbody, and remembered that My Sorority sister Theresa Wells was a Beachbody consultant. I reached out to her, and she quickly helped to organize a “weight loss challenge” with a group of four of our Sorority sisters. One thing I learned very early on, was that I needed to get moving…whether running, walking, dancing in my living room (think Flashdance people!), be active. I also learned how to keep a diary of what I was consuming, and that was EYE Opening to say the least.
After our 30 day challenge, I sadly only saw about a 3 pound loss, but I knew that I had not been sticking to the routine outlined by my Beachbody Coach. I knew that moving forward I would have to be more committed to working towards my goals.
It is the summer of 2015 and I now weigh 155 pounds! I am not quite where I want to be, but much further than I used to be. I would like to outline my keys to success that have worked for me:
- Monitor what you are eating and when you are eating it. I know that I “cheat” and could never stick to some strict diet. So what I do is plan out my week of eating. If I know that I have a lunch meeting at a restaurant, I may have a light breakfast. If I know that I want to have some pancakes for breakfast, I then adjust and have a salad for lunch with water and fruit. You have to sometimes pick and choose that battle.
- Stay hydrated…. I had no idea how much of a difference drinking water could make, until I began being more deliberate at my intake of water. WATER!!!
- Keep moving…. I may not go running every day, but I do try to make sure I am moving regularly at work (pedometer works). I also walk my dog for 30 minutes each day and that helps as well. It can even be as simple as putting on your favorite music and dancing for a while! It is important to just be as mobile as possible.
- Do not beat yourself up if you deviate from your fitness goals. Take it as a learning opportunity on what not to do, and adjust. You do not put on weight overnight, and you will not lose it overnight. It is an ongoing process and truly is a lifestyle change.
I would like to take this time to thank my Beachbody Coach Theresa Wells for her guidance and availability to me, and wish you all much success in your fitness weight loss/fitness journey!

"I completed the 21 day backyard boot camp with coach Wells. She is an awesome personal trainer! She would push me through drills and exercises, which helped to burn the fat. There were times I thought I wanted to quit, but I just kept telling myself that the finish line is almost there, and results will be seen on the other side. I’m happy to say that I did lose some inches in those 21 days, and lost some weight. I would recommend her to anyone that is interested in starting a fitness journey. She may be tough, but she is very fair, and only wants to see you succeed."

“In preparation for a half marathon, I have been running and cross training with Theresa for a while now and the experience has been very rewarding. Theresa is very knowledgeable and is a great trainer and coach. Although our long endurance runs are hard, there is something special about running and training with Theresa. She leads, instructs, and motivates in a very positive manner. After you've worked out with her you will want to do it again and again (It’s addicting). Since I started running with Theresa, I have enjoyed the enriching experience of testing (and even extending) my physical limits. I know she will get me in shape physically and mentally for my half marathon."

"I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Wells through a service oriented organization. She agreed to instruct at our Cardio Health Fest as a fundraiser for Bethel Memorial AME Church. She lead a group of 85 people in a dynamic, fun, and intense exercise session. She did such a good job that we invited her back....Ms. Wells is a professional in every sense of the word. She is dedicated, prompt, energetic and truly motivational. She is definitely an instructor to consider hiring for your future events."
"Theresa is an Excellent Fitness/ Personal Trainer! I have achieved more in 3 months training with Theresa, than I had when I was training for my marathon in 2001!!! I'm staying a loyal client / student!!"Year first hired: 2012 (hired more than once)
